Life Coaching

Life coaching is individual work with clients, helping them resolve personal issues on personal or professional topics that are relevant to them.

Life coaching helps you:

get to know yourself;
understand your true goals and motives;
find a solution;
improve personal productivity;
take responsibility for the desired results;
experience personal change and implement ideas.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is not mentoring, counseling or psychotherapy. Coaching sessions don’t involve sharing advice, giving lessons, or putting together an action plan for the client. First and foremost, coaching is listening to the client attentively and – most importantly – hearing what they have to say. Actually hearing what the client is saying, without judging or trying to formulate the perfect answer or piece of advice in your head, is the first important thing a coach must do. In order to help the client by asking questions that encourage improvement, the first thing the coach has to do is “hear” the client’s problem. Be a conversational partner who truly listens to what the other person is saying.

Questions that nurture and encourage improvement

Another competency that is used in life coaching and is the duty of the coach is to ask questions that help the client improve and grow  and look at the situation or problem from a different angle by reflecting. In a sense, coaching can be described as the practice of broadening a person’s attitude, providing new perspectives, forming inner values, and generating individual insights that lead to personal change and achievement of the desired results. Often, when resolving one issue, other areas of life naturally come up as well, where changes also begin to take place.

Why is coaching not mentoring?

Unlike with mentoring, during a life coaching session, clients resolve their problems and initiate change based not on the experience or advice of the coach, but on their own personal experience and inner wisdom. Clients are trained to independently generate insights. To develop the habit of working with their internal resources, and to change their thinking pattern. It is a tool that gives them not a fish, but a fishing rod.

Life coaching and self-awareness

Life coaching on the road to self-awareness helps to understand the external and internal layers of self-knowledge. As long as the client wants and allows it. Coaching sessions are confidential, so they are a place where clients can feel free to share their needs, desires, strong points, shortcomings, motives, values, life concept, weaknesses or vulnerabilities. Knowing these parts of your identity leads to the core of your personality – your authentic self, from which personal power is born.
